How to Set Up a Professional Email Address on cPanel (yourname@yourdomain.com)
SNBD Host Team
If you're still handing out a Gmail or Yahoo address for your business, you're leaving a bad first impression. A professional email like info@yourcompany.com or support@yourshop.com.bd instantly makes your business look more legitimate. Clients trust it. Customers trust it. And it takes less than 10 minutes to set up if you have a cPanel hosting plan.
This guide walks you through creating your first professional email address on cPanel, setting up webmail so you can access it in a browser, and optionally connecting it to your phone or Gmail so you can manage it however you prefer.
What You Need Before You Start
- A domain name (e.g., yourcompany.com or yourshop.com.bd)
- A hosting plan with cPanel — like the ones on SNBD HOST's cPanel hosting
- Your domain already pointed to your hosting (see our DNS guide if you haven't done this yet)
- Your cPanel login credentials (username and password from your SNBD HOST welcome email)
Step 1: Log Into cPanel
Open your browser and go to your cPanel login page. It's usually at one of these addresses:
yourdomain.com/cpanelyourdomain.com:2083- Or log in through your SNBD HOST client area and click the cPanel button
Enter your cPanel username and password. You'll land on the cPanel home screen, which shows a grid of icons organized into sections.
Step 2: Find the Email Accounts Section
Scroll down or look for the Email section on the cPanel home page. You'll see several email-related icons. Click on Email Accounts — it's usually the first icon in the Email section and looks like an envelope.
This takes you to a page that lists all existing email accounts on your hosting. If this is a new account, you'll see only the default system email (which you can ignore).
Step 3: Create a New Email Account
Click the Create or + Create button at the top right of the Email Accounts page. You'll see a form with several fields.
Fill in the email details:
- Domain: If you have multiple domains on this hosting account, use the dropdown to select the right one. If you only have one domain, it'll be selected automatically.
- Username: This is the part before the @ symbol. Type what you want — for example, type
infoand it createsinfo@yourdomain.com. Common options:info— general inquiriessupport— customer supportsales— sales teamyourfirstname— personal professional emailadmin— for administrative use
- Password: Click "Generate" to create a strong password automatically, or type your own. Use something with uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols. cPanel will show you a strength indicator — aim for "Very Strong" or at least "Strong". Write this password down somewhere safe.
- Storage Space: Set a mailbox size limit. 500 MB is usually fine for a starter email. You can change this later. Avoid setting it to "Unlimited" on shared hosting unless you're sure you won't accumulate thousands of large attachments.
Once you've filled everything in, click the Create button at the bottom of the form. You'll see a success message saying the email account was created.
Step 4: Access Your Email via Webmail
You can immediately read and send email through webmail — no setup required. Go back to the Email Accounts list. Find your newly created email and click Check Email next to it.
cPanel will show you three webmail clients to choose from:
- Roundcube — the most modern-looking option, recommended for most users
- Horde — feature-rich but older interface
- SquirrelMail — very basic, good for slow connections
Click Roundcube to open your inbox. You'll see a familiar email interface where you can compose messages, receive mail, set up folders, and manage contacts. You can also access webmail directly at yourdomain.com/webmail in the future.
Step 5: Connect to Your Phone or Desktop Email App (Optional)
Reading email in a browser is fine, but most people prefer to use their phone's email app or a desktop client like Outlook or Thunderbird. Here's how to set it up.
On Android (Gmail app or built-in Mail app):
- Open your email app and choose "Add Account"
- Select "Other" (not Gmail or Outlook)
- Enter your full email address and password
- Choose IMAP (not POP3 — IMAP keeps your mail synced across devices)
- Incoming mail server:
mail.yourdomain.com, Port: 993, SSL: On - Outgoing mail server:
mail.yourdomain.com, Port: 465, SSL: On - Use your full email address as the username
On iPhone:
- Go to Settings → Mail → Accounts → Add Account
- Choose "Other"
- Tap "Add Mail Account" and enter your name, email, password, and a description
- Configure IMAP with the same settings as Android above
In Outlook (Windows/Mac):
- Open Outlook and go to File → Add Account
- Enter your full email address and click Connect
- Choose IMAP when prompted for account type
- Enter the same server settings as above
You can find your exact server settings inside cPanel. Go to Email Accounts, find your email, and click Connect Devices — cPanel will show you the exact server names and ports for your specific account.
Step 6: Forward Emails to Your Gmail (Optional Alternative)
If you prefer to manage everything in Gmail rather than a separate app, you can set up email forwarding. Every email sent to info@yourdomain.com will automatically land in your Gmail inbox.
- In cPanel, go to the Email section and click Forwarders
- Click Add Forwarder
- In "Address to Forward," type your professional email username (e.g.,
info) - Select your domain from the dropdown
- Under "Destination," type your Gmail address
- Click Add Forwarder
Now any email sent to your professional address lands in Gmail. To send emails from Gmail using your professional address, you'll need to configure Gmail's "Send mail as" feature in Gmail Settings → Accounts and Import.
Creating Multiple Email Addresses
Most businesses need more than one email. Repeat Step 3 for each address you need. Common setups for a small business:
- info@yourdomain.com — for general inquiries
- support@yourdomain.com — for customer issues
- yourname@yourdomain.com — your personal business email
- noreply@yourdomain.com — for automated emails from your website
Each BDIX shared hosting plan at SNBD HOST supports multiple email accounts, so there's no extra cost for setting up additional addresses.
Managing Your Email Accounts
From the Email Accounts page in cPanel, you can manage everything:
- Change password: Click Manage next to an account to update the password
- Change storage limit: Increase or decrease the mailbox size
- Delete an account: Remove email addresses you no longer need
- Suspend an account: Temporarily disable without deleting
A professional email address is one of the most impactful things you can do for your business's image. Clients take you more seriously when your email matches your domain. Set it up once, and it runs forever as long as you maintain your hosting subscription.
