Hermes Agent Bangladesh: 10 Things You Can Do in the First Week
SNBD Host Team
After joining the Hermes Agent Bangladesh beta, the first week is when you move from "I have an AI agent" to "my AI agent is doing something useful." Here are ten things to do in that first week, ordered by impact.
Day 1: Foundation (Complete These First)
1. Write Your System Prompt
Your system prompt is the single most important configuration in Hermes. It defines your agent's identity, purpose, and behaviour. Take 15 minutes on this — a specific, well-written prompt makes a bigger difference to response quality than any other setting.
Template: "You are [role] for [business/project]. You [primary purpose]. You know [what the agent knows]. Respond in [language(s)]. Tone: [how the agent should sound]. If you cannot answer, [what to say/do]."
2. Upload Your Core Knowledge Base
The information your agent needs to answer questions should be in the knowledge base, not in the system prompt. Upload your FAQ, product catalog, service descriptions, pricing, and policies as documents. Start with 5–10 pages of your most important content — you can always add more later.
3. Connect Your Primary Platform
Pick one platform to start with: Telegram is fastest. Connect it today, even if you are not ready to share the bot with customers. You need to be using it yourself before you put it in front of real users.
Days 2–3: Testing and Refinement
4. Run 30 Test Questions
Write down the 30 questions your customers ask most often. Ask your Hermes agent every one of them. Note which answers are accurate, which are wrong, and which are incomplete. This tells you exactly what to fix in your knowledge base.
5. Fix the Knowledge Base Gaps
Based on Step 4, update your knowledge base to address the gaps. If the agent gave wrong answers, add correct information. If answers were vague, add more specific content. Repeat Step 4 after updating until 90%+ of answers are accurate.
6. Test in Bangla
Even if your primary language is English, send 10 queries in Bangla and check the responses. If your customers might message in Bangla (likely for a Bangladesh business), verify the agent handles it well. Add Bangla versions of key FAQ answers if responses need improvement.
Days 4–5: Real Users
7. Share with Three Internal Users First
Before sharing with customers, give your Telegram bot link to three trusted team members or friends who know your business. Ask them to test it hard — ask every edge case, try to break it, give you honest feedback on what works and what does not.
8. Handle the First Real Customer Query
Share the bot link with a small group of real customers — add it to your Telegram group or send it to 20 regular customers. Monitor the first day of real conversations closely. Some queries will go outside what you expected. Add those to the knowledge base immediately.
Days 6–7: Expansion
9. Try the API Endpoint
Even if you are using Telegram for the customer-facing bot, test the API. It takes five minutes with curl. Understanding the API opens up integration possibilities: connect Hermes to your website's chat widget, your CRM, or your internal tools. The API is where Hermes's flexibility really shows.
10. Plan Your Second Use Case
By the end of week one, you will have a clear picture of what your Hermes agent does well and where you want to take it next. Plan your second use case: if you started with customer FAQ, consider lead qualification next. If you started with a team knowledge base, consider a customer-facing bot. Hermes instances can run multiple configurations for different use cases.
End of Week 1 Checkpoint
By the end of your first week with Hermes Agent Bangladesh, you should have:
- A configured agent with a clear system prompt
- A knowledge base that correctly answers 90%+ of common queries
- A live Telegram bot that has handled at least 10 real customer queries
- A clear picture of the next configuration improvements and use cases to explore
If you are not at this checkpoint, the most common reason is insufficient knowledge base content. More documents, more specific content, better-formatted answers — that is usually the fix.
